Abstract
William Faulkner's short story A Rose for Emily is amazingly impressive among the readers for its strong emotion and profound social connotation, and even more widely appreciated by critics for its artistry. Although the fantastic plots, the distinctive symbol, the repeated suspensions and horrible Gothic atmosphere serve the esthetic effect of this narrative, the exquisite narrative strategy and technique contribute much more to it.
