Abstract
Purpose:To approach the feasibility of TURBt combined with TURP for bladder transitional cell carcinoma with BPH. Methods:The clinical data of 46 cases of patients with bladder transitional cell carcinoma and BPH were retrospectively reviewed. Among the 46 patients, 26 had undergone TURBt and TURP at the same time, and the rest of 20 TURBt alone. Results:The follow up period ranged from 12~40 months. Recurrence occurred to 3 of the combined therapy group but no urethral and prostatic implantation or metastases and 4 of the TURBt alone group. The mean interval of recurrence after the initial therapy is 18.4 and 15.4 months respectively. Conclusions:TURBt combined with TURP for bladder transitional carcinoma with BPH is a sound treatment of choice.
