Changes of erythrocyte immune function in the patients with chronic gastritis

Abstract

Aim: To investigate the immune function of red blood cells (RBC) in the patients with chronic gastritis . Methods: The immune function of RBC in 83 cases with chronic gastritis was dynamically detected with yeast rosette method before and after the treatment. Results: RBC-C 3b receptor rosette (RBC-C 3bRR) rate and RBC immune adherence enhance factor (RFER) rate were lower (P0.01,P0.05); and RBC immune complex rosette (RBC-ICR) rate and RBC immune adherence inhibitor factor (RFIR) rate were higher (P0.05, P0.01) in patients with chronic gastritis than those in the control group. After treatment, these parameters returned partially except RFIR. The RBC-C 3bRR was lower, and RBC-ICR was higher in the patients with chronic gastritis infected by helicobacter pylori (HP) than those with no Hp. Conclusion: The immune function of RBC is suppressed in the patients with chronic gastritis. Hp might give contribution to the condition.
