Review of Rational Drug Use Indicators in Outpatient Prescriptions of Our Hospital

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To check and analyze the prescriptions from our hospital between July and Dec.in 2008 to obtain the information about the drug utilization in outpatients.METHODS: The prescriptions sampled randomly were reviewed and analyzed statistically.RESULTS: A total of 600 prescriptions were reviewed;2.17 kinds of drugs were used per patient on average,16.50% of the patients received antibiotics;4.67% of the patients received injections.The rate of drugs prescribed in generic names was 100%,96.94% of the drugs listed in Medicare Drug Directory had been prescribed;65(10.83%)prescriptions were irrational;the average drug expenditure per capita each time was 234.98 yuan.CONCLUSION: The outpatient drug use is rational on the whole but still remains to be improved further.
