Abstract

Objective To explore the difficacy of large dose of Xingnaojing usde to treat pediatric brain trauma. Methods Acording to standards 40 patients were chosen and divided into experimental group and control group at random. 20 patients in experimental group receved Xingnaojing 2ml/kg intravenously over 30 minutes. Followed by 2ml/kg,over 12 hours reaptly. All are 5d. while 20 patients in control group received nothing. Serum ET,NO,GCS and COS of all the patients were measured after 10 days,2 weeks and 6 months respectively. and the data were analyzed statistically . Results The serum ET,NO,GCS and COS in experimental group were 53.48±13.83ng/L,39.16±13.12 and 11.2± 1.1,3.6+1.2 respectively. While the serum ET,NO and GCS in control group were(71.3±12.37)ng/L, (56.10±2. 3) and 8. 8±2.6,3. 1±1.3, respectively. Between the two groups the serum ET, NO and GCS were different significantly (P0.01,P0.05, respectively) . While the GOS was not (P 0. 05). Conclusion Large does of xingnaojing is effective to treat pediatric brain injury at least within a short term.
