Abstract

[Objective]To explore indoor air pollution after decoration and the danger to the people's health.[Methods]According to the completed time,the concentration of formaldehyde,benzene and VOCs was determined in 150 rooms decorated within 2 months,2-4 months,5-8 months and 9-11 months,as well as 50 rooms decorated over 5 years which was selected as control group.The decoration materials in the 2 groups were investigated.[Results]The main materials were coating material,paints,fiber carpet,compound floor board.The concentration of formaldehyde,benzene and VOCs was 13.3%、15.9% and16.6% respectively,and significantly higher than that in control group.There was a difference(P0.05).The qualified rate of formaldehyde,benzene and VOCs was the lowest in room air after 2 months of decoration,accounting for 0.00、12.7% and 16.1% respectively.The main causes were completed time,coating material,paints,compound floor board,fiber carpet,artificial floor board.[Conclusion]The concentration of formaldehyde,benzene and VOCs in indoor air caused by decoration decreased along with the duration of decoration.
