Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of P27 in breast carcinoma.Methods The expression of P27 was determined by S-P immunohistochemical technique method in 50 cases of breast carcinoma,45 cases of normal tissue around breast carcinoma,50 cases of benign breast tissue.Results Positive expression rates of P27 protein is 54% in breast carcinoma,60% in normal tissue around breast carcinoma,and 76% in benign breast tissue.The difference between benign breast tissue and breast carcinoma was prominent(P0.05),but not between breast carcinoma and normal tissue around breast carcinoma.Statistical correlation existed between P27 protein and the lymph node metastasis,clinical stages,but not between P27 protein and age,sizes of tumor,expression of ER and PR.Conclusion The expression of P27 probably is associated with the development of breast carcinoma and lymph node metastasis;The expression of P27 can be used in prediction of the clinical progression of breast carcinoma.
