Abstract
Objective To study the expression of p27 and its siginficance in breast cancer.Methods The expression of p27 was detected by immunohistochemical method in 8 cases of normal breast tissue,24 cases of benign breast tissue and 66 cases of breast cancer and its relationship with clinicopathological characteristics was analyzed.Results p27 high expressive rate in normal and benign breast tissue was 100.0%(8/8,24/24),in breast cancer it was 53.0%(35/66).Furthermore p27 low expression was significantly associated with late TNM stage and a high incidence of lymph node metastasis,recurrence and distant metastasis.Conclusion The expression of p27 in breast cancer was significantly associated with clinicopathological characteristics and it may be an important factor to predict the prognosis of breast cancer.
