Abstract

Ecological engineering nas been defined as the design of ecosystems for the mutual benefit of humans and nature.Specific topics include ecotechnology bioengineering sustainable agroecology habitat reconstruction restoration ecology ecosystem conservation ecosystem rehabilitation and wetland restoration and establishment.Appllcations of ecological engineering lnclude wetland creation and restoration.Functions and restoration of wetland were introduced in this paper.The Oletangy River Wetland Research Park at The Ohio State University in USA,one of the most comprehensive wetland research and education facilities in the nation was illuminated.
