A review of ecological restoration studies on natural wetland

Wetland is viewed as “Kidney of the Nature” due to its abundant resources and unique ecological structure and functions.In order to protect effectively and utilize reasonably the rare wetland resources,many measures have been taken by worldwide countries to prevent the degradation or disappearance of wetland.thereby the study on the ecological restoration and creation of wetland has been paid great attention by specialists in ecology and environmental science.Based on the review of the international and domestic studies of wetland restoration,the emphases of the study on wetland ecological restoration are discussed.It is pointed out that the methodologies,basic theories,applied technologies and demonstration projects of wetland ecological restoration should be studied further to carry out effectively the wetland ecological restoration in China.
