Abstract
The paper offers some characteristic comments on the courtyards of the famous Shanxi merchants such as Qiao,Cao,Qu,Wang and Chang in the hope that some exploration may be triggered on the rise and fall of Shanxi merchants and the deep interest in the touring of the famous courtyards—one of the famous touring brands in the province—can be roused.
