Abstract

This paper introduces the research of the FAI (Free Armature Injection) two-stroke DISI engine modified from a carburetor two-stroke gasoline engine AX-100 in details.A combustion chamber meeting to the fuel direct injection technology was developed and a large amount of raw data and MAP of the electronic control parameters were obtained. Moreover, the comparisons in power, fuel consumption and emission were conducted. The results showed that the FAI direct injection technology could be successfully applied to the two-stroke engine, eliminating short-circuiting phenomenon and improving the scavenge efficiency.Fuel economy and exhaust emissions over the whole operating range were improved greatly.
