Evaluation and analysis on the modern service industry competitiveness of the seventeen cities in Shandong province

To evaluate the modern service industry competitiveness of the 17 cities in Shandong province using factor analysis method,fourteen economic indicators are selected from four aspects:the modern service industry′s development level,the growth ability,the basic conditions and the environment of science and technology.The evaluation results showed that the development of modern service industry of the seventeen cities in Shandong province is not balanced,and the eastern regions have obvious advantages,but the central and western areas lag behind.In addition to the current level of development of modern service industry,economic basis,actual strength of science and technology,the use of foreign capital,traffic environment and other factors have significant effect on the competitiveness of modern service industry.Finally,some suggestions and countermeasures on accelerating the development of modern service industry in Shandong province are put forward.
