Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the accuracy between the new Thinprep cytologic test(TCT)and the traditional Papanicolaou smears by biopsy under colposcope. Methods: All of 1 337 women were examined and randomly divided into two groups. There were 1 055 cases in an observation group and 282 cases in a control group. The observation group was detected by Thinprep cytologic test while the control group was examined cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions by traditional Papanicolaou smears. All of detected individuls were performed biopsy under colposcope, taking histological diagnosis as means,to evaluate the accuracy between the new Thinprep cytologic test(TCT)and the traditional Papanicolaou smears. Results: The detection rate of cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions done by Thinprep cytologic test was over 97.06%.Conclusion: The technique of the new Thinprep cytologic test(TCT) is better than that of the traditional Papanicolaou smears in detection of cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions and the new Thinprep cytologic test(TCT) is an effective method in screening for precancerous lesions in cervical cancer.
