Abstract

AIM: To investigate the diagnostic value of thinprep cytologic test(TCT) combined with biopsy under colposcope for cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions(CIN).METHODS: The suspected patients(n=476) were assigned to TCT combined with biopsy under colposcope(TCT group,n=255) or biopsy under colposcope randomly(control group,n=221).Pathologic examination of biopsy samples was used as gold standard.RESULTS: The coincidence on diagnosis of cervical lesions between TCT and pathologic examination of biopsy samples was 74.12%(189/255),and the coincidence in control group was 52.49%(116/221).The difference between the two groups was significant statistically(χ2=363.75,P0.01).CONCLUSION: TCT combined with biopsy under colposcope can increase the diagnostic accuracy of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, and become a reliable method to screen and diagnose the precancerous lesion of cervix.
