Abstract

Objective:To explore the effects of flavones from Zea Mays L(ZMLF) on blood lipid and hemorheology in hyperlipidemic rats. Methods:Sixty Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups;they fed with normal diet,or high fat diet to induce hyperlipidemia.ZMLF was administered for 40 days, then serum lipid and hemorrheologic indexes were measured. Results:The levels of TC,TG,LDL-C and apoB100 decreased significantly(P0.05),and those of HDL-C,apoAI and apoAI/apoB100 ratio increased(P0.05).The contents of the high, middle and low blood viscosity, plasma adhesion, hematocrit(HCT),RBC rigid index(IER),RBC aggregation index(IEA) decreased significantly(P0.05);while RBC deformation index(IED) increased significantly(P0.05).Conclusion:ZMLF can prevent high-fat diet-induced lipid metabolism disorders and the abnormal hemorheology.
