Efficacy of Trimetazidine on 50 cases of Stable Angina Pectoris

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of trimetazidine(TMZ) for treating stable angina pectoris.Methods A total of 100 patients with stable angina pectoris were randomly divided into control group and trial group,control group(conventional therapy with beta-blockers,nitrates and calcium antagonists),trial group(conventional therapy and trimeta-zidine),12 weeks.Results(1) TMZ significantly reduced the number of angina attacks and the nitrate consumption(P0.01),(2) TMZ significantly increased exercise duration(P0.05),total work load(P0.01),time to onset of angina and time to 1 mm ST segment depression(P 0.01),(3) there were one discomfortable feeling in upper abdomen,one headache,one rash and one palpitation.Conclusion TMZ is effective and safe for patients with stable angina pectoris.
