Competitive and Cooperative:the Cooperative Principle in Political Debate Language

Cooperative principle is an important content and research subject in pragmatics. From the pragmatic point of view, this article takes the political debate language of U.S. presidential election campaign as an example, to discusses the effect of cooperative principle in verbal communication, to help us analyze conversational implicature and to improve our verbal communication levels, so that communication purposes can be achieved smoothly.
