Abstract
Objective:To explore the characteristics of 24h dynamic blood pressure and pulse pressure(PP) in aged patients with essential hypertension. Methods:The characteristics of 24h dynamic blood pressure and PP were compared between aged group(n=65) and middle-aged group(n=32) by case control study. Results:The 24h average PP(APP),day PP(dPP),night PP(nPP) and hight systolic blood pressure(nSBP) were higher in aged group than those in middle-aged group(P0.01 all);24h average diastolic blood pressure(ADBP),day DBP(dDBP) and night DBP(nDBP) were lower in aged group than those in middle-aged group(P0.05 all). Conclusion:Compared with middle-aged patients, the dynamic DBP decreased and the dynamic PP increased in aged patients with essential hypertension.
