Abstract
The immediate cause for the emergence and development of Christian normal education in China is the demand for teachers inside and outside churches between the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China,its fundamental driving force is the realization of missionary school being more effective, of more Christian and of more Chinese nature and even the goal of forever existence in China by training the Christian Chinese teachers,and its common features are attention to educational theory and methodology,emphasis on teaching practice,educational research and a combination of learning and use,and importance attached to Chinese learning,western learning and religious education.
