Abstract

The present paper deals with seven species of the genus Mongoliana Distant,of which five are new to science, i. e., Mongoliana lanceolata , sp. nov., Mongoliana triangularis , sp. nov., Mongoliana serrata , sp. nov., Mongoliana naevia , sp. nov. and Mongoliana sinuata , sp. nov.. They are described and illustrated.A key to species of this genus is proposed. The type specimens are despoisted in the Entomological Museum, Northwest Sci Tech University of Agriculture and Forestry. 1. Mongoliana chilochorides (Walker) Specimens examined: 2♂♂ 2♀♀, Xitianmu Mountain, Zhejiang Province, 500 m~1000 m, 04~06 Ⅴ 1980, coll. LI Fa sheng. 2. Mongoliana recurrens (Butler) Specimens examined: 1♂, Daqing Mountain, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 06 Ⅷ 1983; 1♀, Guadun, Wuyi Mountain, Fujian Province, coll. YANG Zhong qi; 1♀, Huangzhulou, Fujian Province, 13 Ⅵ 1981, coll. QI Shi cheng; 1♀, Huaxi, Guizhou Province, 1000 m, 26 Ⅴ 1981, coll. YANG Chi kun. 3. Mongoliana lanceolata , sp. nov. (Fig. 1) Length (incl. teg.): ♂5.4 mm, ♀5.7 mm; Tegmen: ♂4.8 mm, ♀5.0 mm. This new species resembles to Mongoliana recurrens , but can be distinguished from the latter by: 1)body yellow brown, but the latter dark brown or piceous; 2) lateral lobe of the aedeagus bilobate with apex blunt but the latter tapering. Holotype: ♂, Lingtian, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 03 Ⅵ 1984, coll. WU Zheng liang and LU Xiao lin. Paratype: 1♀, Lingtian, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 03 Ⅵ 1984, coll. LUO Gui biao. 4. Mongoliana triangularis , sp. nov. (Fig. 2) Length (incl. teg.): ♂4.3 mm, ♀4.8 mm; Tegmen: ♂3.8 mm, ♀4.3 mm. This new species is similar to Mongoliana chilochrides , but different from the latter in the following characters: 1) body small but the latter larger; 2) all legs yellow brown, except the black apex of spines in hind tibia and tarsus but the legs of the latter species with black stripes. Holotype: ♂, Menglun, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, 22 Ⅴ 1991, coll. WANG Ying lun and CAI Wan zhi. Paratypes: 2♂♂, 10~19 Ⅴ 1991, same locality and collectors as holotype. 5. Mongoliana naevia , sp. nov (Fig. 3) Length (incl. teg.): ♂5.1 mm; Tegmen: ♂4.6 mm. This new species is similar to Mongoliana chilochrides , but can be distinguished from the latter by: 1) body pale yellow, the latter yellow brown; 2)the apical half of tegmen with small dark brown spots, the latter with large ivory yellow marks on the tegmen; 3) the surface of the long blade like spine twisty, similar to the ripple, but smooth in the latter. Holotype: ♂, Menglun, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, 21 Ⅵ 1974, coll. CHOU Io, YUAN Feng and HU Yin yue. 6. Mongoliana sinuata , sp. nov. (Fig. 4) Length (incl. teg.): ♂4.9 mm,♀5.0 mm; Tegmen: ♂4.2 mm, ♀4.3 mm. This new species resembles to Mongoliana naevia , sp. nov., but differs from the latter in the following characters: 1) the tegmen with a dark brown winding stripe from the middle sutural margin to subapex and a dark brown spot near apex, but in the latter, the apical half spread with small dark brown spots; 2)spinal formula 7 9 2, the latter 6 9 2. Holotype: ♂, Nannuo Mountain, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, 30 Ⅴ 1974, coll. CHOU Io and YUAN Feng. Paratypes: 2♀♀, Menglun, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, 24~26 Ⅴ 1991, coll. WANG Ying lun and CAI Wan zhi. 7. Mongoliana serrata , sp. nov. (Fig. 5) Length (incl. teg.): ♂4.2 mm, ♀4.6 mm; Tegmen: ♂3.6 mm, ♀4.1 mm. This new species is similar to Mongoliana triangularis , sp. nov. but differs from the latter in the following characters: 1) dorsal lobe with teeth on the apical margin, the latter smooth; 2)dorsal margin of the genital style with two processes, the latter with only one; 3) legs with black stripes, the latter yellow brown without stripes. Holotype: ♂, Lingtian,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 03 Ⅵ 1984, coll. WU Zheng liang and LU Xiao lin. Paratypes: 1♂, Lingtian, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 03
