Endovascular embolization in the treatment of acute ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysms

Objective To explore the method,technical feature and curative effects of endovascular emblozation for the treatment of anterior communicating artry aneurysm.Methods The clinical data of 54 cases with acute ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysms treated by endovascular embolization were retrospectively analyzed.Results Interventional andovascular embolizations were performed successfully in 53 cases.Among them,32,19 and 2 cases were emblolized in 100%,95% and 90% respectively.Severe vasospasm was seen in 3 cases.Two cases died from cerebral hernia and secondary cerebral infarction following embolization.No rebleeding case was found during a follow-up period of 6～24 months after-embolization.Conclusions Endovascular embolization was a minimally invasive,relatively safe and effective method for the treatment of ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysm.
