Abstract
Based on literature review,this paper examined 249 college students' cognitive styles by using a Cognitive Style Figure Test(CSFT) and a questionnaire.The major findings showed that the number of field-dependent students was slightly larger than that of field-independent ones;female learners displayed more field-dependent characteristic,while male learners showed more field-independence.The significant differences in cognitive styles between males and females are meaningful.
