Determination of paeonol in paeonol Ointment by HPLC

Abstract

Objective: To establish an HPLC method for determination of Paeonol content in Paeonol Ointment.Methods: The content was determined by HPLC.The analysis was carried out on C18 column;the mobile phase consisted of methanol-water(60∶40);The flow rate was 1.0 ml/min,and the ultraviolet detection wavelength was at 274 nm.Results: The linear regression for Paeonol ranged from 0.112 to 1.12 μg(r=0.9997).The average recovery rate was 97.05% with RSD 1.35%.Conclusion: This method was sensitive,accurate,reproducible and exclusive.It can be used for quality control of Paeonol in Paeonol Ointment.
