Study the effect of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery and traditional chest surgery in treating spontaneous pneumothorax

Objective To investigate the difference between video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery and traditional chest surgery in treating spontaneous pneumothorax.Methods 210 patients with spontaneous pneumothorax in our hospital were divided into two groups:Group 1,115 patients treated by video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery;Group 2,95 patients treated by traditional chest surgery.Compared group 1 with group 2 in cut length,shed blood volume,operation time etc.in operating,and in hospital days,drainage tube drawn time,body temperature,sedative used,hospital charged and so on after surgery.Results There was statistics significance in observation index except hospitalization expenses.Conclusion Compared in the 2 groups in the treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax,video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery is practically efficacious in minimum trauma,less shed blood,less operation time,recovery faster and so on,it is valuable to popularize.
