Abstract

A complex [Co(phen)(HBTC)(H2O)3]·2.5H2O,where phen=1,10-phenanthroline and H3BTC=1,3,5-ben-zenetricarboxylic acid, has been synthesized from hydrothermal reaction and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, studied by element analysis, infrared spectrum,UV-spectrum and thermogravimetric analysis. The result shows that the crystal structure belongs to Monoclinic, space group P21/n with a=0.788 89(8) nm,b=1.900 0(2) nm,c=1.563 87(16) nm,β=98.780(2)°,V=2.316 6(4) nm3,Z=4.The asymmetrical units of the title complex consists of one [Co(phen)(HBTC)(H2O)3] compound molecular and two and a half crystal water moleculars, and its are linked further by hydrogen bonds(O-H…O) to form three dimensional network structure. The cyclic volatmmetric behavior of the complex was also investigated for definition of the identity of the couple of redox peaks. The fluorescent analysis shows that has two emission speaks at 383 and 469 nm.CCDC: 782669.
