Abstract

Recently, hydroxyapatite has been widely applied in orbital reconstruction. This article reviewed the application of hydroxyapatite artificial eye in orbital reconstruction, postoperative complications and measurement. The improved implantation methods is to cut anterior putamina in petal shaped, and free posterior sclera and optic nerve. After implantation, the common complications included implant exposure, conjunctival dehiscence, residual superior orbit cave, implant migration and pyogenic granuloma. The main operation methods for complications involves enlarging fascia capsule, and planning cover operation of conjunctiva and fascia flap etc. After complications being treated with appropriate management, the clinical efficacy is good.
