Analysis of the Efficacy of Acupuncture plus Acupuncture Point Injection in Treating Idiopathic Peripheral Facial Paralysis

Objective To compare the efficacies of three methods,acupuncture plus point Fengchi(GB20+)injection of Cobamamide,acupuncture plus intramuscular injection of Cobamamide and simple acupuncture in treating idiopathic peripheral facial paralysis and explore the mechanism by which acupuncture plus acupuncture point injection of Cobamamide produces a therapeutic effect on this disease.Methods Ninety-three patients were randomly allocated to three groups.Each group was classified into three syndrome types,wind-cold,wind-heat and wind-phlegm.The treatment group of 32 cases received acupuncture plus acupuncture point injection,control groupⅠof 30 cases,acupuncture plus intramuscular injection and control groupⅡof 31 cases,simple acupuncture.The scores of the symptoms of different syndrome types were counted in each group before and after treatment.Results After treatment,the total efficacy rate was higher and the symptom scores were lower in the treatment group than in control groupⅠand in control groupⅡ(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion All the three therapeutic methods have a good effect on peripheral facial paralysis.Of them,acupuncture plus acupuncture point injection has the best effect and acupuncture plus intramuscular injection has the next.
