Clinical Observation on the Effect of Acupuncture and Point-injection on Bell's Palsy

Abstract

Objective To study the therapeutic effect and mechanism of acupuncture and point-injection with cobamamide at Fengchi(GB 20) for Bell's palsy.Methods Totally 93 cases were randomized into 3 groups: the treatment group(32 cases) was treated with acupuncture and point-injection,the control group I(30 cases) was treated with acupuncture and intramuscular injection,and the control group II(31 cases) was treated with acupuncture only.The changes of symptoms and electrophysiological indices before and after treatment were detected.Results The effect of treatment group was better than that of control groups in effective rate and electrophysiological indices(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion The treatment of acupuncture and Fengchi(GB 20) injection with cobamamide can promote the repairing of injured facial nerve significantly,and it is the most effective one of the 3 groups.
