Abstract
Objective To study the expression and clinical significance of tumor suppressor gene PTEN in breast cancer.Methods Immunohistochemical staining(S-P)was used to detect the expression of PTEN in 72 cases of breast cancer samples.Results Among these 72 samples,the rates of total expressing depletion of PTEN were 62.5%(45/72).The rates of total expressing depletion of PTEN was significantly correlated with histological grade,TNM staging,axillary lymph nodes status and survival time(P0.05),but not with tumor size,estrogen and progesterone receptors.Conclusions The depletion of the expression of PTEN at protein level may contribute to prognostic criterion for breast cancer.
