A Study of English Listening Comprehension Obstacles and Strategies Based on Cognitive Linguistics

Human takes part in communication by language, the purpose of language teaching is to develop students' communicative competence. Listening comprehension is an essential language skill. Cognitive theory thinks that listening comprehension is not simply decoding information, but a complicated process. On the basis of Cognitive Linguistics, this paper try to analyze the process of English listening comprehension, study relationship between cognitive and listening comprehension , and summarize some enlightenment of listening comprehension strategies, to develop students' communicative competence.
