Abstract

Objective To research the protective effect of F-6 from Abelmoschus Manihot on acute liver injury of mice induced by carbon tetrachloride. Methods Mice were divided randomly into six groups:normal group, carbon tetrachloride model group, high, medium and low dose of F-6 groups, and the biphenyldimethylesterate group. An acute liver injury model induced by carbon tetrachloride in mice was established after seven days of medication.Samples of the blood, liver, spleen were collected to study the liver function index(ALT,AST),the content of MDA in the liver, and the activity of SOD.Results F-6 decreased the activity of ALT and AST,reduced the content of MDA and increased the activity of SOD obviously. The pathological observation of the liver showed that F-6 could relieve liver injury obviously. Conclusion F-6 can protect the liver from injury by carbon tetrachloride. The mechanism of F-6 may be related to scavenging free radicals and inhibiting lipid peroxidation.
