Effects of different Fuzheng Huoxue prescription on expression of α-SMA and smad3 in liver fibrosis rats

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effect of different Fuzheng Huoxu prescription on the expression of α-SMA and Smad3 in rat of liver fibrosis.Methods:Ninty SD rats were divided randomly in six groups.Liver fibrosis was established by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) plus olive oil treatment.Therapeutic groups include No.1 Fuzheng Huoxue,No.2 Fuzheng Huoxue and No.3 Fuzheng Huoxue,along with the positive control group,model control group and normal control group.The expression levels of α-SMA and Smad3 from the liver tissue were detected after the rat of liver fibrosis treated with different medicines and physiological saline.Results:The expression levels of α-SMA were significantly lower in No.1 and No.2 Fuzheng Huoxue groups than model control and positive control groups(P0.01,P0.05) while there was no obvious difference in the expression level of αSMA between the No.3 Fuzheng Huoxue and model control groups.The expression levels of Smad3 were significantly lower in all the three Fuzheng Huoxue medicine groups than that in model control group(P0.05,P0.01).Also,The expression levels of Smad3 were significantly lower in No.1 and No.2Fuzheng Huoxue medicine groups when compared with that in positive control group(P0.05,P0.01) while no obvious difference was observed between the No.3 Fuzheng Huoxue medicine and positive control groups.Conclusion:Different Fuzheng Huoxue prescription have the inhibitory effects on the expression of α-SMA and Smad3.
