Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of Fuzheng Huoxue recipe on the expression of ET-1 in rats with radiation-induced lung injury, and discuss the prevention and curative effect of Fuzheng Huoxue recipe and its possible action mechanism. Methods 56 S-D rats were randomly allocated into irradiation group(n=14), irradiation with early intervention group(n=14), irradiation with short post-intervention group(n=14), irradiation with long-term post-intervention group(n=14), All groups were irradiated all chest with a single large dose. 7 rats in all groups were put to death at the end of the 3th, 6th month after the irradiation, then immunohistochemistry was used to assayed the levels of ET-1 in lung. Results The protein expression of ET-1 in Fuzheng Huoxue recipe-treated groups were significantly lower than that of the model group. Conclusion ET-1 could reflect the degree of radiation lung injury. Fuzheng Huoxue recipe could degrade the levels of ET-1 in lung tissues significantly. It might be one of their mechanisms in treatment of radiation-induced lung injury.
