Impacts of Fuzheng Huoxue Formulas on TGFβ1 and TIMP-1 Expressions in the Rats with Liver Fibrosis

Abstract

Objective To observe the impacts of fuzheng huoxue formulas on the expressions of transforming growth factor β1(TGFβ1)and inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1)in liver serum and liver tissue of the rats with liver fibrosis and explore the mechanism on anti-liver fibrosis and the efficacy difference.Methods 90 SD rats were divided randomly into six groups.The models were set up with CC14 and olive oil.The treatment groups were subdivided into a fuzheng huoxue No.1 formula group,No.2 formula group and No.3 formula group.Additionally,a positive medicinal group,a model group and a normal control group were designed.The rats in each group were treated with gastric infusion of different medicines and physical saline.The expressions of TGFβ1 and TIMP-1 were detected in the serum and liver tissue of rats.Results The expressions of TGFβ1 and TIMP-1 in liver tissue and serum of rats in each formula group were lower remarkably than those in either model group(P0.05 or P0.01)or positive control group(P0.05 or P0.01).The improvements in No.1 and No.2 formula groups were apparent than those in No.3 formula group.Conclusion Fuzheng huoxue formulas effectively inhibit the expressions of TGFβ1 and TIMP-1 and reduce the occurrence of liver fibrosis.
