Abstract
China is short of water resources considering its huge population. The water resources per capita in China is only about one tenth of the world's average.Because of the uneven distribution of population and water resources as well as the disparity of the economy development in various areas, the local water resources pressures are much different among provinces.Introducing water pressure indexes model and evaluation method, this paper analyzes the regional pressure of population, ecosystem and economy development of the local water resources.Based on the quantificational and comparative analysis of the regional water resources and water pressure indexes, the paper classified the regions of water scarcity in China.
