Abstract

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of the combined treatment by the oral leukotriene antagonist montelukast and inhaled glucocorticoid on the childhood asthma.Methods:81 children with mild to moderate asthma were selected from the Asthma clinic,41 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group of 40 patients. In the regular treatment with the inhaled glucocorticoid, the treatment group were added with montelukast. After 6 months with the continuous therapy, the clinical efficacy and the pulmonary difference were compared .Results:There were significant differences in the clinical efficacy and the pulmonary difference in the two groups before and after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion:The treatment of childhood asthma with montelukast combined inhaled glucocorticoid is better than inhaled corticosteroids alone.
