Abstract
Taking the personal income of Chinese residents as the object of study,this paper estimated three types of income inequality index,and decomposed them with income source method.The study showed that: Chinese residents' income inequality is relatively high in 2009,and the urban Gini coefficient was lower than rural areas;from the inequality index decomposition results,wage income expanded the inequality;pension income decreased the inequality.
