Abstract
This paper introduces a simple and clear method of measuring income inequity, which is named slope - coefficient method. Then we analyze China's rural residents' and urban residents' income inequality and the contribution of each income group to income inequality in 2009 by using the method. Our study finds that to both the rural residents and urban residents, the greatest contribution of income inequality are low-income group and high income group.
