Abstract
Based on CHNS data,by taking residents' personal income as the research object, and by using a widely used concentration index measurement method, this paper decomposed Chinese residents' Gini coefficient,Theil index and Atkinson index by use of income composition or sources decomposition method, and analyzed the role of the income source on the contribution. The change direction of wage income to total income inequality is positive, expanding the total income inequality. In recent years, pension income in the share of total income continued to increase, playing a role in narrowing residents' income gap.
