Abstract
The present paper reports eight new species of Leptomias Faust collected from the Heng- duan Mountains of Southwest China in 1981 and 1983. The type specimens are kept in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica, Beijing.1. Leptomias sublongicollis sp. nov. This new species belongs to the longicollis species-group, and is related, to L. longicollis Chao, but differs from it in having rostral median furrow reaching the vertex, a complete median furrow on the pronotum, large deep punctures on the elytra and internally strongly denticulated fore tibiae. Male aedeagus as in fig. 1. Length 7.2-10,2mm. breadth 2.7-4.3mm,Holotype ♂, allotype ♀, paratypes 44♂♂, 27♀♀. Weixi County 1780-2500 m. (27°N, 99°12'E), Yunnan Province. 10-28, VII. 1981. by Liao Su-bai, Wang Shu-yong, Chang Xue-zhong.2. Leptomias varians sp. nov. This new species belongs to the longicollis slecies-group and is close to L longicollis chao, but distiagushed from it by having a small antero-lateral tubercle on the prothorax, larger and slightly flattened eyes. Male aedeagus as in fig. 2. Length 7.2-9.1 ram. breadth ,2.7-.5.7 mm.Holotype, ♂, allotype ♀, paratypes 6♂♂, 4♀♀, Dege County 3200 m (31°45'N, 98°36'E), Sichuan Province. 4. VII. 1983, by Chen Yuan-qing, Wang Shu-yong.3. Leptomias elongatoides sp. nov. This new species belongs to the longicollis species-group and is closely allied to L. elonga-tus Chao, but differs from it in the rostrum with convex edge at middle, a short impression on each side and median furrow not reaching the vertex, hind tibial corbels open. Male aedeagus as in fig. 3. Length 8.0-10.9 mm. breadth 3.0-4.0 mm.Holotype ♀, paratypes 2♂♂, Deqen County, 2700-3000 m (28°36'N, 98°56'E), Yunnan Province 9. IX, 1981, 4-6. IX. 1984, by Liao Su-bai, Wang Shu-yong.4. Leptomias ochrolineatus sp. nor. This new species belongs to the squamosetosus species-group and is close to L. gibbus Aslam, but separated from it by having strongly raising odd interval and carinate first interval at the top of the declivity. Male aedeagus as in fig. 4. Length 5,7-8.6 mm. breadth 2.0-3.4 mm.Holotype ♂, allotype ♀, paratypes 11♂♂ 10♀♀, Dege County 3200m. (31°45'N, 98°36'E), 6. VII. 1983, by Chen Yuan-qing,' Wang Shu-yong. 5. Leptomias arcuatus sp. nov. This new species belongs to the thibetanus species-group and is related to L schoenherri Faust, but easily separated from it by having arcuted fore tibia (figs. 5a, b). Male aedeagus as in figs. 5c, d, Length 7.6-10.1 mm. breadth 2.7-3.7 mm.Holotype ♂, allotype ♀, paratypes 6♂♂, 3♀♀, Dali County, 2300-2850 m. (25°28'N, 100°16'E), Yunnan Province, 29. VI-2. VII. 1981, by Liao Su-bai, Wang Shu-yong.6. Leptomias bispkulatus sp. nov. This new species belongs to the thibetanus species-group and is close to L. schoenherri Faust, but distinguished from it by the elytra wider than pronotum and each elytron with a short obtuse process at the apex. Male aedeagus as in figs. 6b, c. Length 10.4-11.3 mm. breadth 4.0-4.3 mm.Holotype ♂, paratype 1♂, Deqen County, 4200 m. (28°36'N, 98°56'E), Yunnan Province, 29, VIII. 1981, by Wang Shu-yong.7. Leptomias globosus sp. nov. This new species belongs the thibetanus species-group, and is close to L. bispiculatus sp. nov. But differs in having globe-like pronotum, no process at Ae elytral apices and tie fare tibia more strongly denticulated internally. Male aedeagus as in figs. 7b, c. Length 9.0 mm. breadth 3.6 mm.Holotype ♂. Barkam County, 2500m. (31°40'N, 102°28'E), Sichuan .Province, 17. VIII. 1983, by Wang Shu-yong.8. Leptomias bicaudatus sp. nov. This new species belongs to micans species-group and-is close to L. lineatus Aslam, but well distinguished from it by having dense granulum on the dorsum, rostral median furrow reaching the vertex, median furrow distinct and compete on the pronotum, a strong process at elytral apices (figs. 8a, b). Male aedeagus as in figs. 8c, d. Length 9.1-11.3 mm. breadth 2.7-4.3 mm.Holotype ♂, allotype ♀ I.ushi County, 2500 m. (25°58'N, 98°54'E),. .4. VI. 1981, by Wang Shu-yong.
