NOTES ON CHINESE SPECIES OF BATRACOMORPHUS LEWIS WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF SEVEN NEW SPECIES(HOMOPTERA,CICADELLIDAE,IASSINAE)

A list of the 20 species of Batracomorphus Lewis from China is provided ,in which seven species are described as new to science and 9 species new combin ations are proposed. The type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomo logy,Guizhou University.1 Batracomorphus guzhangensis sp.nov. (Figs.1 -3)Body length (incl. teg.):♂4.2-4.5?mm,♀4.5-4.8?mm.;This new species is related to Batracomorphus fuscomaculatus (Kuoh) in appea rance,but can be distinguished from the latter by 1) the smaller body, 2) pronot um,scutellum and forewing without fuscous spots and 3) the end area of aedeagus with small teeth.;Holotype♂, paratypes 3♂♂, 4♀♀,Guzhan g (28°37′N,109°56′E ), Hunan Province, 20 Aug. 1995,coll.by LI Zi-Zhong. 2 Batracomorphus dentestyleus sp.nov. (Figs.4-6) Body length (incl. teg.):♂5.0-5.2?mm,♀5.5?mm.;This new species resembles Batracomorphus fuscomaculatus (Kuoh) in appearanc e,but differs from the latter in 1) the ventral process of pygofer shorter and s lender, 2) the dorsal margin of aedeagus smooth and 3) style with teeth .;Holotype♂, paratypes 2♂♂,1♀,Yingjiang (24°25′N,97°56′E),Yunnan Province,15 May 2001,coll.by TIAN Ming-Yi.3 Batracomorphus furcatus sp.nov.(Figs.7-10) Body length (incl. teg.):♂6.0-6.2?mm, ♀6.8?mm.;This new species is allied to Batracomorphus fuscomaculatus (Kuoh) in appear ance,but can be distinguished from the latter by 1) body larger, 2) the end of ventral process expanded and 3) the end of style branched.;Holotype♂,Lanping (26°28′N,99°20′E),Yunnan Province, 13 Aug. 2000, coll.by LI Zi-Zhong, paratypes: 1♂Fanjingshan (27°49′N,10 8°45′E ),Guizhou Province , 31 July 2001, coll. by LI Zi-Zhong;1♀, 10 Aug.1994, coll. by CHEN Xiang- Sheng,place as paratype.4 Batracomorphus gracilis sp.nov.(Figs.11-1 4) Body length (incl. teg.):♂4.5-4.8?mm, ♀4.8-5.0?mm.;This new species is similar to Batracomorphus notatus (Kuoh) in appearance, but can be distinguished from the latter by the forewing and pronotum with black granulations, the end of clavus region with out fuscus spot and the end of style slender.;Holotype ♂, paratypes 4♂♂, 2♀♀,Wulum uqi (43°48′N, 87°46′E), Xinjiang Autonomous Region, 17 Aug. 1997,coll.by L I Zi-Zhong.5 Batracomorphus lateprocessus sp.nov. (Figs.15-17) Body length (incl.teg.):♂6.5-6.8?mm.;This new species is related to Batracomorphus fuscomaculatus (Kuoh) in appea rance, but differs from the latter in: body larger, the end of cl avus region without fuscous spot and the middle area of style expanded.;Holotype ♂,paratype 1♂,Yingjiang (24°25′N,97°56′ E),Yunnan Province,15 May 2001, coll.by TIAN Ming-Yi.6 Batracomorphus pianmaensis sp.nov. (Figs.18-20) Body length (incl. teg.):♂4.4?mm.;This new species is allied to Batracomorphus notatus (Kuoh) in appearance, but can be distinguished from the latter by the body pallide-flavens, the end of ventral process expanded and the middle area of aedeagus with triangle-shap e protruding.;Holotype♂, Pianma (26°05′N,98°40′E),Yunnan Province,16 Aug.20 00,coll.by LI Zi-Zhong.7 Batracomorphus punctatus sp.nov. (Figs.21-24) Body length (incl. teg.):♂5.3-5.5?mm, ♀5.5-5.8?mm.;This new species is similar to Batracomorphus trunctus (Li et Wang) in a ppearance, but can be distinguished from the latter by 1) smaller body, 2) forwi ng with black granulations and 3) the shape of aedeagus also different.;Holotype ♂,paratypes 7♂♂, 5♀♀,Shiqia n (27°28′N,108°12′E), Guizhou Province, 14-16 Aug. 1994,coll.by CHEN Xiang-Sheng and ZHANG Ya-Zhou.
