Abstract

Using(w)=30%aqueous hydrogen peroxide as oxidant,and without any organic solvent and cocatalyst,the oxidation of benzaldehyde to benzoic acid catalyzed by environment friendly catalyst was investigated.The result indicated that phosphotungstic acid is an excellent catalyst for oxidation of benzaldehyde to benzoic acid while the uniform design in carrying out the experiment and the most optimal reaction conditions was as follows: When n(benzaldehyde)∶n(H_3PW_(12)O_(40))∶n(H_2O_2)=100∶0.7∶350,reaction temperature was 75 ℃ and reaction time 4 h,the yield of benzoic acid amounted up to 83.46%;
