Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of artificial liver support system(ALSS) in the treat- ment of the patients with severe hepatitis and give a proposal for the indication of the therapy. Methods In this study, 92 cases of severe hepatitis in ALSS group underwent an ordinary synthetic treatment plus the therapy of ALSS, and 103 cases in control one got an ordinary synthetic treatment only. The sur- vival rates and serum hepatic biochemical indexes were observed and compared between the two groups. Results The serum hepatic biochemical in- dexes in ALSS group are improved obviously after the treatment. The survival rate in ALSS group is higher (71. 7% )than that in control(55. 3% ) (P 0. 05). Conclusions ALSS is a effective therapy for severe hepatitis. Some proposals were put forward for the ALSS treatment.
