Abstract
Objective To study the changes of Neuron-specific enolase(NSE)in blood of newborns with Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy and to make out the relationship between the level of NSE in cord blood and the brain damage after neonatal asphyxia. Methods Radioimmunoassay measured serm levels of NSE in postnatal 1,3 days of control group and test group.10 normal newborns were control group. There were 38 neonates which Apgar score ≤3 server as the test group. Results The results showed that the level of NSE in cord blood of neonates with HIE was significantly higher than normal control(P0.01).Conclusion The levels of NSE in cord blood are the symbol reflecting the early brain damage.
