Abstract
In the paper,the exact solutions to a new form nonlinear Schrdinger equation were found with the use of the extended Riccati-function method based on mapping method,and the solitary solutions,periodic wave solutions and variable separation solutions were obtained.The method could also be used to explore exact solutions for other nonlinear evolution equations.
