Abstract
OBJECTIVE To approach the efficient nursing and protective measurements for catheter-related urinary infection.METHODS Totally 263 investigated patients were randomly divided into two groups. One group with 129 patients was used as observation group and the other with 134 patients was used as control one.The patients in observation group were inserted and indwelled catheter based on standard operation procedure(SOP) of catheter-related urinary tract infection, while the patients in control group were performed according to Clinical Nursing Technical Operation Standards.RESULTS The average infection ratio of the observation group was 5.54% lower than that of the control group. In the case of indwelling catheter with duration of 1-7 days and 7-15 days, the infection ratio of the former group was 3.21% and 6.68% lower than that of the latter one, respectively. When the duration was more than 15 days, the infection ratio of both group was not significant different, which is about 36.00%.In addition, the ratio of bacteriuria increases with the increase of indwelling time, and the pathogenic bacteria consisted mainly of negative bacilli with a percentage of 44.74.CONCLUSION The use of SOP of catheter-related urinary tract infections including inserted and indwelling catheter can effectively reduce the incidence of urinary tract infection.
