Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and endostatin in type 2 diabetic nephropathy (DN) patients. Methods By enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, serum concentration of VEGF and endostatin in 30 type 2 DN patients and 30 type 2 diabetic non-nephropathy were detected, serum of 30 health person were used as normal control. Results The serum concentration of VEGF and endostatin were significantly different (P0.05,P0.01),between the type 2 diabetic non-nephropathy group and DN group and the normal control. The serum concentration increase of VEGF and endostatin were closely related with the proteinuria, renal function and the diabetic retinopathy in type 2 DN,via they did not show any statistical difference with hypertension, hyperglyceride and glycated hemoglobulin. Conclusion The serum concentration of VEGF and endostatin increase gradually with the progressing of disease in both type 2 diabetic non-nephropathy group and the DN group. VEGF and endostatin are closely related with the proteinuria, renal function and the diabetic retinopathy . VEGF and endostatin may play an important role in the angiogesis of DN and the disturbance of function.
