Abstract

To determin the contents of vanillin in some milk powder by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry.A linear regression equation for absorbance(y) at 435.0 nm wavelength as a function of vanillin concentration(x) was established:y=7.493 42x+0.001 3(r=0.999 7),with a linear range from 0.010 4 to 0.165 2 g/L.The average spike recovery of vanillin was 98.6%,the relative standard deviation was 0.34%.This method has good reproducbility, and is suitable for the determination of vanillin in foods.
