Abstract

Objective Tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) evaluation of early left ventricular function in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods 30 normal subjects and 26 patients with type 2 diabetes underwent the TDI evaluation,and left ventricular mitral annulus 6 loci myocardial motion curve was recorded.Systolic peak velocity (Vs),early diastolic peak velocity (Ve),late diastolic peak velocity (Va)were measured,and the six loci myocardial average velocity which represented the overall velocity of mitral annulus and Ve / Va ratio was calculated.Results The values of Ve,Vs,Ve/Va were lower in T2DM than in control group(P0.05).The value of Va was higher in T2DM than in control.Conclusions Tissue Doppler may be an non-invasive method for evaluation of early left ventricular function in patients with type 2 diabetes.
